The Eastern Cape has for many years been called the hotbed of South Africa Rugby. This union has also supported the efforts of the TAG Rugby Association in trying to assist us in getting the game to take root in the area. We have worked extensively with the Union and on a few occasions have assisted their development officers with clinics. The most recent being the Youth Day clinic held at the Headquarters of EP Rugby on the 15^th June 2009 as part of the HSBC Rugby Festival Programme prior the Southern Spears Rugby game against the Lions. 

TAG has a close relationship with this Union. Gareth Wright who assists TAG has been appointed as the kicking coach for the Union. We are looking to increase our efforts in the region going forward. We already have 6 underprivileged schools that have been part of our Adopt a School Programme.
