The TAG Rugby Association has a very good working relationship with the Golden Lions. We have worked extensively with Lomax Tshandu and his team of development Officers during our successful grassroots development Festivals as part of the British and Irish Lions Tour. HSBC, Principal Sponsor of the Lions and TAG ran clinics in this region from March – July 2009 in 14 schools in this region. The aim is to grow the number of schools playing TAG Rugby™ considerably in the next 12 months.

The support we have received from the Union has been fantastic and we look forward to developing the relationship further.

As with the Blue Bulls region we see this region as one where TAG Rugby™ can be used proactively to promote Rugby in schools that have never experienced the game.
